Incredible! I met the new owners today! Turns out they were not from Malung where the swap took place, they were from Östersund 400km north of Malung, they met half way so to say.
The engine seized on the way home so they spent last week to change to a new engine and then drove back down to Rättvik were we are now to attend Classic Car Week.

I've known about this car before, but I decided to go up and check on it today as I was passing by:





Tax stickers are from 2003 so this car has been sitting for some time.

Travelling in Sweden today with the caravan. Outside Trollhättan I see this Opel (first picture), then again 90 km north (picture two and three) and then again(!) 150 km from Trollhättan (last picture).
Turns out they are going from Trollhättan to Malung (330 km) to trade this car for a Jeep Cherokee V8. I asked if they were worried about the Opel holding up for this trip given that we had see them at a number of gas stations filling up anti freeze and adjusting the alternator. No, they were more worried that the Jeep would hold up for the trip back. I wonder what that would look like if this was the good car?
