Naah, that's not really true. Just today I got the confirmation of the opposite facts.
We'd been in a tool-market and I had a short look to the SIKU-toys besides the cashier, if perhaps some models were still produced, which I know from my childhood.
I've seen one fact, which friends, who have small children, have told me. They said, that SIKU-toys (a well known company since decades of Lüdenscheid) were getting worse in hte last years. They let produce in China and the bottoms of the cars are nowadays plastic and not Zinc any more, so the new SIKU-toys are much easier broken into pieces, when children are playing with.
So this is the reason, because my friends are buying old, used SIKU- (also Majorette- and Matchbox-)cars on flea-markets for their children. They are just better quality.
And last but not least: it's good for the life's quality of a child, if it can play with a K 70-, Granada- Mercedes W115- or Opel GT-toy-car than with a modern one. :grin: :tongue:
