Am I right, that Norev is nowadays just a kind of "badge-engineering"? That the models were made in Asia, just by using the old name, similar to Schuco?
No, they still make their own models. They are made in China but they are not just badge-engineering unlike Schuco's Junior Line series which are often rebadged Cararama/Hongwell models.
The actual Norev-toys are different than that ones, I know from my childhood in the 70ies. And today they are offering other models than in the past (even the material is different). For example: Norev hadn't made a K 70 in the 70ies.
Even if for some models they use the old moulds (Peugeot 505 to cite the first one which comes to my mind), they made lots of new models.
Today's scale models are not only toys. Some companies like Siku still make toys, but others make models for collectors. Norev's 1:43 are not toy, but they still produce toys with cars at a smaller scale.
