But with movies set in a period before cars (except films like Back to the Future Part III and Army of Darkness, I'm talking about realistic dramas) it should be obvious. Very, very few western films set in a period within the last century are car-free, even films where characters are in a wilderness often have them either leaving civilization or re-entering it at the end. Basically the majority of films on this site are made in the developed world and set in civilisation, or have characters that come from civilisation (and cars are very much part of modern civilisation). Unless of course they are pre-20th century period films or space-set sci-fi films (and even some of them have land vehicles in them, at first I didn't realize Aliens would have anything in it. So it ought to obivious to most people what films won't have cars in them, with some exceptions (like Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Aliens).
The best thing to do would be to make a list of films where one might think there's a chance of cars appearing but there aren't (like Mary Poppins or something), and leave out all the historical films like Gladiator and Braveheart and the fantasy films like the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
