The big difference here was, that there was no native indigenous Falkland-population. noone had lieved there before.
And the Argentinians today aren't a ancient nation either, although the are independent since nearly 200 years. Over 90% of the Argentinians are the descendants from Spanish, Italian, German and Polish settlers. And they acted like imperialists and colonists, too.
