* We had this name long before the unity of all three provinces. The foreigners said to all of us "romanians" because these places were roman colonies in antiquity and romanian is a latin language.
Right now in Germany there's a historically and politically not correct equation, as there's a discussion about a "Romanian invasion". An incident, which causes big social and ecnonomical problems in the related areas, rougher quarters in poorer towns, like Duisburg and Dortmund.
Those "invaders" have mainly Romanian, also Bulgarian papers (if they have papers at all), but they all are gipsies, Romani people. Annother reason to mix the names up: Romani/Roma (in German) with Romanians. Many Germans does not make a difference, so it's bad for the reputation of all Romanians.
