I didn't dare to propose that
The Advance-Design name was as official as the Task-Force and the C/K-Series ones.
And I'm sure using the right names everywhere will ease the switch to the IMCDb next gen'.
But if you don't mind, I'd like first to "finish the tour" for the Task-Force and C/K-Series trucks (there seems to be some small mistakes and oversights in some TF and C/K pages) and then "launch" the AD affair.
Moreover, I hope we will be first able to set up a kind of "user's guide" for the identification of the AD trucks, as there is a lot of names possible:
- "common use but unofficial" ones with ½-ton to 1½-ton;
- hood emblems, ads and brochures ones with 3100 to 6700;
- quasi-unknown ones with Thrifmaster an Loadmaster in ads and side hood emblems from 1947 to mid-1949;
- and don't forget the chassis codes Ddey65 gave some years ago.
If you're Ok, I'll create a special thread with a proposition of table for that in a few days, so we will be able to start this mass renaming with best possible tools (at least I hope so
).
And I hope find enough literature so we can do the same with the 1941-47 AK-Series (also known as Art Deco?) at some point... I even dream to find some pages with informations on the GMC counterparts of all these trucks
