This is Michael Moore's devastating documentary on what happened when GM shut down its plants in the company's birthplace of Flint, Michigan, which also happened to be his hometown. Pulling the car images from this film gave me a new appreciation for it. Most of the cars driven in this film are GM products in wildly varying states of condition and (dis)repair, which adds a very heartbreaking element to the film that Michael Moore himself may not have even fully appreciated. For instance, the scene near the end where the family is evicted on Christmas Eve, both of the weatherbeaten cars loading up the furniture (the Buick Skyhawk and the Chevy pickup) had apparently been made at the now-closed GM plants.

Some of these may not make the final cut but I felt since the auto industry was the whole point of the film and General Motors in particular, I felt it was important to save as many of these as I could.

Thanks TV Boy it's about this time fine documentary about the collapse of the once-great Detroit motor industry was added to the site.

However I thought the passing by traffic was too-background the stuff behind the women definetely, and the stuff is too briefly seen (like 1 second) to be listed IMO. The grey van behind woman with the blue T-shirt is seen for a short time but is it interesting enough to list? We make exceptions for rarer or special vehicles but I don't think these qualify. By the way I think you missed a few things, like the car from Michael Moore's childhood home movie footage and the car from that cheesy corporate video. Try looking through the film again for 2 star vehicles (things people get in and out of).

Sure will...some of those I didn't include because they were too "part seen," like the '59 Chevy four door a young Michael Moore is getting into. But I do intend to hold onto the movie long enough to make another sweep.

I included the background cars behind Anita Bryant because so many of them were GM products and I felt this underscored how much GM had become a way of life in Flint. Then again I also submit cars sometimes with the full expectation not all of them will make the final cut.

The cheesy 1940s era GM videos didn't show cars, in fact one shows a bunch of parade footage and a sea of people but not a single car.

There's also a lot of great traffic shots that show GM cars all over the place, I'll put them in the comments section like I usually do with freeway-type shots.

As G-MANN said, excellent job tv_boy! I have a request, though. Do you by any chance think you have a better shot of the steering wheel for this Diplomat:
