It's not possible to make searches within model year ranges now.
27/11/2010 @ 22:24:59: antp: Maintenance / Connection problems
Fixed.
It failed only for the thumbnail-view.
And it was working on the previous server just due to some luck, the bug was already there, it just appeared on the new server due to a different configuration of PHP.

When I click, for example, "Typ 2 / T4" http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle.php?id=352503 it says "Typ 2 %2F T4 in movies..." but no results found. Maybe it could be a server mistake

Indeed the "/" seems to be wrongly encoded. Probably again something due to a difference between the old & new server.

I made a small change, it seems to work but there may be some cases/links in which it causes problems.
If you notice a car in which it fails, please report it.
Problem may occur with characters: & / # +
I had to process them separately on the old server, now they seem to work fine with the same treatment as other characters on the new one.

In Frances I've added the Rolls following previous class in site 40/50 h.p. 'Silver Ghost' http://www.imcdb.org/vehicles.php?make=Rolls-Royce&model=40/50+h.p.+'Silver+Ghost'&modelMatch=1&modelInclModel=on

Until here all is OK. But if you click only in these parts of the model name: 50; h.p.; Silver or Ghost you don't get any result and, on the contrary, a strange 40/50

Indeed I forgot that I handled the "/" differently in model names as it was also used to split names like the space or the dash.
It is fixed now (same bug as for the VW T2 bug, but elsewhere in the code).
Thanks.

It all seems to work now, and fast. :kneu_thumbs:

(What we didn't need was more snow. Luckily it melts right away.)

Really? You're lucky with that. Last night we had the coldest night in end of Nov, early Dec ever, minus 11 degrees plus a strong wind, which makes you feel, it's minus 25 degrees. Fortunately I don't have to drive with the car the next days, only tomorrow to my office, then I'll have vacations for two weeks. My wife already has vacations and doesn't need to take the car either.

We have enough firewood, a 50 kg-bag of melting-salt, a full fridge and full food-locker (o.k. more cat-food than tins for us...), so the winter can continue.

And when I have to take the car -the Omega for sure, the K 70 is locked in a farmer's barn and will stay there until spring- I'll have it warm, thanks to the working Eberspächer-extra-heating.

Anyways, I really would like to have: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gqo_oJI0zMQ

I meant the little snow thingy on the site. Outside it's -6 ° and snowing lightly. Yes, the salt is a killer, I don't drive when it's not necessary...

This explains the unusual weather: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-11851728

Ha! It's been snowing here non-stop for the last three or four days. It isn't even melting away either  The ploughs have bunched it all up at the side of the road and on the pavement which means getting about is difficult.

Of course typical British preparation means that some roads are gridlocked and there are no trains. I am lucky that I'm working at home this week.

When I want to add the car, first I have "error page", then I need to go back and click "add vehicle" again (and it works). A bit annoying. Only I have this problem?
04/12/2010 @ 09:55:19: antp: Maintenance / Connection problems
... which error? It may help, as I do not have problem

Hmm... what's this?:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in /var/www/html/imcdb/vehicle-class.php on line 572
07/12/2010 @ 23:52:38: antp: Maintenance / Connection problems
It means that you loaded a page in the 5-second gap between two uploads of a file in which I made a typo

I added a facebook "like" button on vehicles pages. It should work now, if you notice other errors let me know.
At the same time I noticed a javascript error occurring in Internet Explorer on vehicle pages when no frame was set to indicated vehicle location, strange that nobody reported that

This is really user error, but... I accidentally put an extra slash on the end of the url... http://www.imcdb.org//
and got some very interesting behavior! "Last completed movie" links gave 404, but the "see all comments" link worked. I could get to movies through that, but then the pictures did not show up. I was very confused

Yes there are some weird side-effects when you have an extra "/" in the url, it often works for the page itself but not pictures and some links (those with ".html" as they are not true pages, but just "fake urls" handled by the server to redirect to ".php" pages). I should clean links handling (it is on my to-do list, it is started but it is a long work).

"417 - Expectation Failed". But last time it was also something different, though do not remember now. :ohwell:
09/12/2010 @ 10:33:17: antp: Maintenance / Connection problems
 very weird
Do you have an error like that each time?
Which web browser do you use?
Is there a proxy server or firewall on your internet connection?
If you can report the other that you got it would be interesting...

Do anyone else have that?
09/12/2010 @ 16:23:56: Sandie: Maintenance / Connection problems
On the Doctors page it won't let me add the last digit of the episode number. Is it a bug with 3 digit numbers?

All the 12.11 cars are actually 12.113 and the Ginetta is from 12.160.
10/12/2010 @ 00:37:10: antp: Maintenance / Connection problems
What's that for an episode number?
The field is 5-character wide, as I was not expecting more than 2 digits and after the dot :ohwell:
I simply have to increase max field size in the database. I'll change that tomorrow after having done a backup, just in case of.
