In the movie "Cry Freedom", 1987, starring Kevin Kline and Denzel Washington, it features a BMW E3. Could be a 2500 or 2800. It is driven by Kevin Kline in a few scenes very aggressively off-road. Good footage of this E3 being pushed to it's handling limits.
