Maybe I should also make mine x10 speed. How did you do it? Did you find a video editing software that accepts these video files?
(as I didn't find any accepting the h264 avi files: I have to extract the h264 data and put it in a mp4, or just put it directly on Youtube)

I didn't see antp's commute to work until now. He listens to classical music? I listen to it occasionally. I’m partial to Bach myself.

Actually I usually listen to the radio, I put the classical music mostly on purpose for the video, to have something more neutral 
(but in the first long tunnel usually I do not receive well the radio anyway)
The engine is not very powerful (75hp) so when I need to accelerate a little faster the engine noise is not avoidable

I used MEncoder on my linux box.
you can do something like this
mencoder -fps 300 -ofps 30 -ovc lavc -nosound -o fps300.avi DR08*.AVI
I couldn't get 2pass encoding to work, that should have better quality.

The one from Amazon is maybe better... maybe not Difficult to say.
It can do full HD so even if you use it at 720p the quality may be better. But it is more than twice the price.
They do not seem to mention anything about night vision in the specs.

I was looking at other better quality cameras like the GoPro HDhero, but chose this because
it is far cheaper so I don't have to worry about it as much, plus I don't really need a camera so it's easier to justify spending $50 on a fun gadget

it does looping recording... automatically deletes old videos on the SDcard to make space
