I have to renew the hosting for 1 year before 27 december.
Rather than doing that, I'll rather switch to another account type, still from the same provider (OVH).
Like last time (few days ago) I'll have to lock the site for at least one or two days I think, just to prevent any data loss.
By locking the site, I mean that it won't be possible to add/edit vehicles or even make comments, just view the contents (with a possible downtime of few hours when the switching actually happens).
I'll do that when I'll have few free time, on 18 December or in the next days.

After that, we'll have between 100 and 250 GB of disk space, depending on which account type I chose (instead of 20 currently, half of it is used).

So I plan to host directly on imcdb all the pictures posted in comments, doing an imageshack-like service (but only for imcdb, of course).
The only thing which afraid me of doing that is that a large part of the pictures won't be related to the site's subject, cars; e.g. http://www.imcdb.org/movie.php?id=58335#Comment651742

So as far as the proposed hosting service for the pictures goes, this will be the norm so that all those who contribute can use this one source?

I plan to make that useable by any member, not only admins. But to prevent derivated uses of that, I'll have to make restrictions: pics will only be embeddable in pages of imcdb, i.e. forbid hotlink on other sites.

It should be as reliable as imcdb itself is. It would just be a way to have multiple pictures for vehicles, actually.

That sounds like a good solution, will all the same size/compression rules apply to the comment pictures as well?

I may do an automatic recompress when size exceeds the limits.
